Sora brings progressive, interdisciplinary, mastery-based middle and high school to the world through the internet, creating a learning environment that gives students the opportunity to choose their education based on their interests. As companies were building world-class offices and collaborative environments online, Sora’s founders decided to do the same for education. Sora recognizes that when the school building is on the internet, you can become the most diverse learning environment in the world and provide an option to people who otherwise would never have access to such information, knowledge and skills. Receiving the $1 million Yass Prize would allow Sora to develop additional products and give a version of Sora’s progressive curriculum to everyone for free. It would also allow for more in-person learning experiences in the cities with the highest student density.
