About
Big Picture Learning (BPL) is one of the pioneers in student-center learning grounded in real world experiences which have both incentivized and energized students to move into hundreds of different career paths. A pillar of its approach is that learning can happen more outside the classroom than within, and their nearly three decade success rate in 27 states proves the concept. BPL significantly improves student attendance, performance, and graduation rates.
Carlos Moreno
“BPL’s system of programs employ three major components: 1) deep personalization–one learner at a time, 2) meaningful and relevant relationships–learning in, with, and through a community of learners, and 3) real-world learning—developing and demonstrating competence and accomplishments in authentic contexts and settings.”

Why they stand out
All students have access to real world learning experiences, guided by adults who share their passions, and supported in developing the soft/academic/industry skills and social capital to support success in the world of work. An innovative app, integrates internships and bespoke learning plans for students, and numerous fellowship and advocacy efforts provide a roadmap to reimagine public education. BPL also serves as an incubator to deploy the next set of innovative ideas in education, as well as expanded community partnerships that accelerate opportunities for learners at all levels.

How they STOP for education
An educational approach which tailors learning to each student’s individual interests and needs yields outstanding results in attendance, performance, graduation rates, and college acceptance across their expansive network of over 100 U.S. schools in the U.S. and 100+ international schools.
Working through and helping to create public and charter schools has created a sustainable model for students who would otherwise not have access to these permissionless, 21st century learning opportunities.
BPL is driven by the belief that real progress requires transformational changes from outdated systems and forging new paths in education.
