Be More Colorful, an immersive media and virtual reality production studio, has developed CareerViewXR (CVXR), a platform for career exploration for students– through interactive field trips and job shadow experiences – that can be accessed from any internet-connected device. CVXR also includes companion virtual reality videos that allow students to become completely immersed in a career and observe real people performing real work in authentic environments. CVXR “brings the job site into the classroom” giving students the opportunity to choose their best career path by experiencing a day-in-the-life of virtually any job. The million dollar Yass Prize would enable CareerViewXR to deploy a web-app allowing CareerViewXR to be purchased by schools with limited resources and individual families at a per-student rate similar to its larger-scale deployments. It would also allow formation of partnerships with national employers to develop a matching grant program and sliding fee scale to allow even greater student access.
